-Support the design teams on a variety of projects, contributing to all

-Assist in day-to-day studio operations
-Research and develop special projects as assigned by Creative Directors

Web Design Intern (Fall)


Location: Falls Church, VA and Durham, NC (one position available for each)

Eligibility Requirements

  • Prefer a college junior or senior, but will consider all qualified applicants.
  • Must be interested in pursuing a job within the web design field post-graduation.
  • Must be local to the area to which you apply; no relocation provided for summer internships.
  • Must be available to work a minimum of ten (10) weeks between September and December. Additional weeks possible depending on school schedule.
  • Must be available on-site between 9AM and 5PM for a minimum of 16-20 hours per week.
  • Must be legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Must have an impressive design portfolio and some front-end coding (HTML/CSS/JS) experience.

Job Description

Join Viget’s design team and learn what it takes to be a professional web designer. You’ll be fully immersed into our design process and gain valuable, practical experience.

Specifically, you will:

  • Generate web-ready graphics for various projects (i.e., design support).
  • Participate in the mood board design process.
  • Participate in weekly design discussions.
  • Build out design compositions into HTML/CSS for integration into backend system.
  • Participate in the design composition process.
  • When appropriate, join client meetings to experience client presentations and design consultations.
  • Shadow members of the design team on a daily basis.
  • Meet weekly with our Design Director to discuss your progress.
  • Participate in Viget’s weekly all-hands staff meeting (Free Lunch Friday) and knowledge-sharing session (LabShare).
  • Make one 15-minute presentation to the entire Viget staff (timing and topic TBD).

Compensation

We are open to either a part-time, unpaid internship or a full-time, paid internship. We will be flexible for the right person. In either case, there is potential for performance-based bonus upon completion of the internship.
