REQURIEMENTS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
The Video Editor is a semi-experienced, broadcast level, Final Cut Pro Editor with strong story telling and motion graphics skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the integration of video editing on an as needed basis, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge/quality of work, initiative/motivation, cooperation/relationships, problem analysis/discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral/written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability/dependability, flexibility and ownership/accountability of actions taken.

Ability to work both independently and with producer oversight.
Create and maintain correct nomenclature for fresh and acquired material.
Relay information to outside contract editors, vendors and graphic artists.
Edit short form clips, packages and simple graphics for web delivery.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.

Currently in college and/or a minimum of 1 years worth progressive work experience. 1-2 years professional work experience in editing and video graphics. Some proficiency with Final Cut Studio. Some level of proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. Ability to finish projects including color correction and basic audio sweetening. Strong project organization skills and the ability to follow standard procedures. The ability to effectively work on multiple concurrent projects and still meet deadlines. Must have a strong sense of design and understanding of typography and color. Must have a high level of proficiency with video compression software and techniques.

SPRING INTERNSHIPS - SOA PRINT

The School of Art Print Studio (SoA Print) has several internships available for Spring 2011. We are George Mason’s fine art digital print studio located in the School of Art, producing exhibition-quality prints from state-of-the-art inkjet and laser printers.



We are offering internships for friendly, talented, and hardworking students to assist in our day-to-day operations. Students should have interest in a related field such as Photography, Graphic Design, or Digital Art. Our interns will gain extensive knowledge concerning fine art printers and printing techniques, and develop skills in customer service.

Responsibilities will include preparing files to print (preflight and graphics), print production, and creative design services. Interns will also assist customers in preparing and submitting their orders. Internships will start at the beginning of the spring semester, and can count for up to 3 class credits.
