Opportunity to work with in the Street-wear based design firm that specializes in bringing top
design to the Street-Wear and Action Sports Industry. The opportunity will give you the
chance to create a solid working professional portfolio with companies that are actually
relevant in todays market for various apparel, footwear, luggage, eyewear, etc.
NOTE:
Not looking for a designer but someone that will take direction and assist in the back end
development in a timely manor. This is an unpaid internship that could lead to pay. Scheduling
will have to be discussed due to time zone difference, which is key.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Individuals daily duties would include working closely with Creative Director to create original
web pages, web/web sites utilizing standards-compliant XHTML, CSS, and FLASH.website
production, the design would be from roughs in which the interning designer would have to up
load online and navigate working from an already made template.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Experienced knowledge of current versions of Adobe Design and Web Suits...ie Photoshop,
Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver
Write clean, well-structured markup code in a text editor.
Ability to hand code without the use of WYSIWYG tools.
Familiar with Apache, SSH, SVN and CVS.
Solid understanding and expertise with XHTML, CSS, cross-browser/platform issues and
associated modern browser compatibility issues.
Experience in Javascript and Javascript libraries (Prototype, JQuery).
Ability to code functional pages from mockups in collaboration with web designers.
Knowledgeable in development tradeoffs between speed, design, flexibility and the underlying
page architecture.
Educated in development methodologies and best practices.
Must be aware of online accessibility issues and have experience working to W3C accessibility
guidelines.
Strong proponent of web standards and accessibility.
Modify Wordpress Templates
PLUS FACTORS:
Experience with PHP and Action Script.
Familiarity with e-commerce sites.
Person would have to be reliable as there is a three strike rule in effect. The work being done
is for major companies that are on timely schedules. Seeking a designer on the East Coast is
essential due to scheduling. Availability is key.
