The Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC), a Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
metropolitan area-based nonprofit organization, offers semester-long internships for
undergraduate students seeking experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Creative Writing
• English
• Journalism
• Communication/Entertainment/Media
• Web Design
• Graphic Design

The EIC Internship provides a credit-bearing internship that provides a meaningful
experience and contribution to the student's program of study. Interns will work on
various program areas of EIC such as human trafficking, gun violence prevention, bipolar
disorder, disaster preparedness, etc. Please visit our website (www.eiconline.org) for the

administrative tasks and participate in fundraising efforts. The goal for this internship is
to provide students with a unique experience working for the entertainment industry and
policy-oriented programs to encourage the accurate depiction of health and social issues
in television, on film and in music and music videos.

What the Internship Provides

Fall or Spring Semester Credit

In coordination with surrounding universities and colleges, EIC will provide an unpaid
fall, spring and/or summer internship with semester credit. Students are expected to
research, write, and use analytical skills to carry out specific assignments related EIC's
program areas, and other responsibilities that may entail general administrative tasks.
Interns are responsible for housing and other expenses during the internship. Excellent
performance may culminate in a full-time position with the organization.







Core Program Activities

The EIC internship will start at the beginning of the semester with a brief orientation on
EIC's mission and the scope of work for the specific program area the student is
interested in. Topics include major health issues such as HIV/AIDS, bipolar disorder,
drugs, alcohol and tobacco, addiction and recovery; and social issues such as gun
violence and injury prevention, sun safety and skin cancer, and human trafficking. During
the course of the internship, interns may have the opportunity to attend a prestigious
event on Capitol Hill and also be involved in the process of organizing the PRISM
Awards ceremony held at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles in April.

Eligibility Requirements

Part-time and full-time undergraduate students are encouraged to apply. Strong writing
and analytical skills are preferred. The willingness to learn and gain experience in one or
more of EIC's program areas is all that we require.
