Retail Home furnishings and Interior Design
Located at 6484 Main St., The Plains, Va., 10 minutes from Middleburg, 12 minutes from Warrenton, 20 minutes from Manassas, 1 mile off I-66 at exit 31.
This internship is working for a privately owned retail high-end furniture store offering interior design services. Intern would be working directly with the owners who have 20 years experience in the furniture and interior design industry. Originally from L.A., the look of the store is transitional, eclectic and hip.
The job is for summer unpaid but could lead to a paid part time job in the fall. Hours are approximately 20-25 hours per week, no evenings and one weekend day.
Duties to include:
Greeting and assisting customers
Keeping store clean, fresh and inviting
Occasional care of in store aviary and plants
Window and in-store display
Creating layouts for clients including selection of flooring, wall covering, paint, furniture and lighting
Uploading product pictures, info and articles to store website.
Ideal candidate will have/be:
Professional relaxed appearance
Working knowledge of computers, internet and social media
Self starter
Excited and motivated about interior design
Interest in marketing
Interest is sewing, “made by hand” or other creative outlets
