Organization Description: The Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is a large performing arts organization that presents a wide spectrum of the performing arts: music, dance, theatre, opera and related education programs. Wolf Trap presents over 200 performances year-round, attracting more than 500,000 audience members annually. Wolf Trap’s internship program provides meaningful hands-on training and experience in arts administration, education, business administration, and technical theatre.
Number of positions available: 5
Duration of Internship: 12 weeks: Part-time (maximum of 24 hours per week)
Salary: Stipend: up to $174 per week
Credit: College credit may be available through student’s university
Semesters Currently Available: Fall
Requirements: Must have reliable mode of transportation – Not accessible by public transit
Housing: Not provided, but Wolf Trap will help participants find affordable housing
Preferred Student Status: Undergraduate students who have completed a minimum of one year of study, graduate students, recent graduates, and career-changers currently enrolled in a degree program.
Preferred Majors: All majors welcome
Skills/Qualifications: Administrative interns should possess enthusiasm, strong writing and organizational skills and proficient computer skills
Citizenship: Must meet INS I-9 eligibility regulations

Position Availability: Although beginning and ending dates are flexible, most internships follow these seasonal patterns:
Fall – September through December
Application Requirements: A cover letter with a brief personal statement and an outline of career goals, specification of which departmental internship(s) is desired A resume listing relevant courses, previous experience, and special skills (no transcripts please) Two academic and/or professional letters of reference Two contrasting samples of writing, no more than 3 pages each (except Technical, Scenic Painting, Costuming, Stage Management, Accounting, Graphic Design, Photography, or Information Systems applicants) Graphic Design applicants only: In addition, please include three desktop publishing/design samples
