Do you have an eye for detail and a need for design? FAMILY Magazine is a
parenting publication catering to 80,000 families around the VA, MD and DC
areas and we’re looking for energetic graphic design interns to assist in
creating our magazine. Not only will you receive your name in our
magazine, but you’ll also learn all the ins and outs of graphic design and
the magazine industry.

Requirements:
College credit must be given

Candidates Must Have:
• Knowledge of InDesign CS5, Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5
• Familiarity with color modes (CMYK, RGB, etc.)
• Knowledge of web and print resolution
• Good typography skills
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to complete deadlines in a timely manner
• Works well under pressure
• Team player attitude
• Professional demeanor
• Willing and eager to learn
• Basic editing and writing skills
• Consistent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong accountability
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work independently

Job Responsibilities:
• Layout management in InDesign CS5
• Photo and graphics manipulation in Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator
• Advertisement creation and alterations
• Creation of promotional materials
• Article and advertisement insertion
• Performed other art department-related duties
• Assist in various duties as needed
