Vox Media seeking product & design interns

Do you love design? Do you love technology and/or sports? Vox Media is seeking Product & Design interns to join our team in world domination. Responsibilities:

The design intern’s responsibilities can include design support for editorial features, new pages/sections of sites, production and maintenance work as well as supporting sales. You will be exposed to the creative process while working with a diverse group of top User Experience, Visual Designers and Front End Devs. The work you create will be seen by millions of people. The ideal candidate must have the basics of graphic and interactive design theory.

Hours Needed: 16 hours a week (total should end up at 270 hours)

Location: 1740 N St NW Washington DC

Qualifications:

Required: Adobe CS and knowledge of web optimization of images; Bonus: HTML 5 & CSS skills

Required: Fluent in standard web/interactive design software and tools.

Knowledgeable in design fundamentals including color theory, typography, composition, and photo retouching.

Knowledgeable in User Experience (UX,) User Interface (UI) and Interface Architecture including building wireframes, user flows and case studies.

Demonstrate a clear skill set and focus on interaction design with successful portfolio samples

Able to work well with design direction and be capable of executing tasks in alignment with a style guide and/or brand architecture.

Flexible, proactive and willing to learn in a fast paced environment.

Collaborative, good team player and shows initative.

Excellent written and oral communication skills
