Gannett seeks production artist intern

Title: Production Artist Intern

Reports to: Creative Director

Department: Marketing / U.S. Community Publishing

Purpose: Production design support for the Creative Marketing Group.

Salary: $15
Fall Intern, 14 weeks, Mid-Sept. through Mid-Dec. (flexible)
20 hours per week / 4 hours per day

Responsibilities:
• Use Adobe Creative Suite 4 to produce creative materials.
• Set up design files for variable data printing using StudioID plug-in for InDesign and output PDFs.
• Use Microsoft PowerPoint to create presentation slides.
• Prep and upload materials to the Creative Marketing Library and ongoing library maintenance.
• Assist with email campaigns including uploading images and HTML to ExactTarget.

Qualifications:
• Candidate must have taken relevant coursework in graphic design.
• Must be intermediate and/or advanced user of Adobe Creative Suite 4 including InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel.
• Position requires a basic understanding of sales and marketing.
• Successful candidate will have great attention to detail, ability to multitask, excellent interpersonal skills.
